Janetta Ksar is an experienced litigator who defends complex claims and disputes for major insurance companies, with a focus on fraud/SIU matters.

Overview

Janetta's vast experience spans the real estate, financial, corporate, and insurance defense industries.

She has over a decade of experience representing insurance carriers and handles all types of insurance defense matters concerning the defense and investigation of claims involving wrongful death, negligence, torts, commercial liability, premises liability, errors & omissions, subrogation, first-party, third-party, and uninsured/underinsured motorist benefits.

In 2021, Janetta secured a no-cause verdict for a large insurance carrier in an action for No-Fault benefits. As part of that verdict, Janetta was one of the first attorneys in Michigan to obtain a jury verdict of fraud against the Plaintiff, under the newly amended No-Fault law set forth in MCL 500.3148(2). The jury found that the Plaintiff’s claim was fraudulent and so excessive as to have no reasonable foundation, entitling her client to reimbursement of attorney fees incurred in defense of the matter.

Early in her career, Janetta worked in a boutique securities litigation firm in New York, handling discovery and motion practice in consumer price-fixing cases in the U.S. Federal District Courts.  She returned to Michigan to represent mortgage servicers and banks and was later instrumental in opening and expanding the Detroit office of a Grand Rapids-based insurance defense firm.
